King Hamlet of Denmark is dead. His son, Prince Hamlet (John Simm), encounters a ghostly vision of his late father who lets him know his death, far from natural, was caused by his brother Claudius who poisoned him — and demands that his son avenge him. That same Claudius has just been elected king and hastily married his brother's widow, Queen Gertrude.
This production of Hamlet will open at the Sheffield Crucible in late 2010. The cast is the following:

Of course, Shakespeare's endlessly famous play is available in numerous editions and languages, so it shouldn't be a problem getting hold of it. Although every Hamlet production is different, you'd still get a pretty good idea of it by reading the original text.
