I’ve updated the video section with three interviews new to the site. Two of them are recent and the other one is quite a blast from the past—a 16 year-old brief interview with Mr Simm. Thanks loads to yorkiepud for the amazing find and for letting me upload the clip here!

‘Life on Mars’ on Blu-ray
 27 October 2008, 09:14 am
|
Series one and two of Life on Mars are now out on Blu-ray in the UK. Both series come in two discs each and should contain the same extras as the DVDs. The programme wasn’t filmed in High Definition, though (and thus never aired on BBC HD), so be aware of that when buying.
You can buy it at your local DVD shop if you live in the UK, or order it through amazon.co.uk, play or your choice online shop.

‘In Celebration of Ava’ Fundraising Dinner
 08 September 2008, 08:25 am
|
John Simm has very kindly donated his famous Life on Mars leather jacket to The Ava Clarke Foundation and The Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal for a joint fundraising dinner.
The jacket will be auctioned, along several other donated items, to raise money for a next generation machine to diagnose genetic disorders in children.
Stars join forces to celebrate the life of Ava Clarke
Event: ‘In Celebration of Ava’ Fundraising Dinner hosted by Camilla Al Fayed
Date: 11 September 2008
Venue: Mandarin Oriental Hotel London
In 2006 Natasha Clarke had to face what every parent dreads—her 6-day old baby, Ava, died in her arms of a rare genetic disorder. So that some good can come from Ava’s tragically short life a Foundation bearing her name has been set up to help other children and families affected by genetic disorders.
The Ava Clarke Foundation and The Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal are joining forces to raise over £200,000 for a next generation tandem mass spectrometer, which will be the first of its kind in the UK and in the NHS. This sensitive machine will diagnose a range of genetic disorders on a single blood sample within 10 minutes—enhancing the child’s chance of survival.

Mr Simm himself has taken the time to drop a note at The Railway Arms Forum Board to confirm it’s the genuine article. Let’s hope it raises as much money as possible, as it’s for a great cause and it was obviously really hard to part with (I myself am quite broken-hearted about him not owning it anymore, to be honest). So please, spread the word!
